HOW TO USE THE CRU APT REPOSITORY FOR FEDORA CORE 4

Step 1: Know what you are doing
-------------------------------
Read the terms of usage anf warnings in the text above.
Step 2a: Configuring Cru apt and all recommended repositories
-------------------------------------------------------------
This section applies if you currently do not use apt or if you want to
use all repositories I recommend. If you already have apt installed, you may
run just the second command to update your repository configuration.
Download an unconfigured version of apt from the Fedora Extras by running the
following command as root (and answering emerging questions):
# yum install apt
Now run this command as root to install all the repositories mentioned above
plus some extra repositories I consider trustworthy and useful including all
associated GPG keys:
# wget -O - http://naturidentisch.de/packages/fc4/aptify_fc4 | sh
Step 2b: Configuring only the Cru apt repository
------------------------------------------------
Follow this section if you already have a working apt configuration you want
to enhance using the Cru apt repository.
For Making apt familiar with the Cru apt repository, first download the file
< http://naturidentisch.de/packages/fc4/cru-fc4.list > and put it into
/etc/apt/sources.list.d/ by running the following command as root:
# wget -P /etc/apt/sources.list.d/ http://naturidentisch.de/packages/fc4/cru-fc4.list
Now install the GPG/PGP key used to sign the packages by downloading the file
< http://naturidentisch.de/packages/fc4/cru.asc > and run rpm --import on it:
# rpm --import http://naturidentisch.de/packages/cru.asc
Step 3: Have fun
----------------
Run "apt-get update" to update your package database. It should now include the
Cru APT repository and (if you used the aptify_fc4 script) also many other
important repositories.
You may browse the Cru APT repository's packages tree at
< http://naturidentisch.de/packages/ >.
